the red house

This 150 year old house had undergone much change over its time, but was known as the ‘red house’ when we began making alterations to it. By resurrecting the shape of a lost roof we were able to add what is close to the highest room in this part of Newcastle. Existing wall, floor and roof surfaces were sliced to reveal new spatial organisations, while flat white walls visually pulled the living spaces together.
